For Navik (General Duty) male candidates, vacancies are distributed across five zones: North, West, East, South and Central. A separate merit list is prepared for each zone. Female Navik (GD) candidates, Yantriks, Navik (DB) and Hygienist-I recruitment is on an All India basis.
Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification and Age Limit
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications and fall within the specified age range for the post they wish to apply for. A candidate may apply for only one post.

In addition to basic pay, candidates receive Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty and place of posting. Benefits include free ration and clothing, free medical treatment for self and family, government accommodation or HRA, 45 days earned leave and 08 days casual leave annually, pension under NPS or UPS, gratuity, CSD canteen facilities, ECHS medical facilities after retirement, and insurance cover of Rs. 75 lakh under the Naval Group Insurance Fund.

The fee must be paid online through net banking, Visa/Master/Maestro debit card, or UPI. Fees once paid are non-refundable.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of four stages:
- Stage-I: Computer Based Online Examination (100 questions, 1 hour, no negative marking). Qualifying marks: 40 for UR/EWS/OBC, 35 for SC/ST.
- Stage-II: Recruitment Centre Process including identity/biometric verification, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Assessment and Adaptability Test, document verification and recruitment medical examination.
- Stage-III: Verification at INS Chilka including Aadhaar-based identity check, document verification, pre-enrolment medicals and submission of original documents.
- Stage-IV: Training Base verification and authentication of original documents with concerned Boards/Universities.
The Physical Fitness Test includes a 1.6 km run, squats, push-ups and bent knee sit-ups. Male candidates must complete the run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, while female candidates have 8 minutes.
