PwBD Reservation

HCL Educational Qualification and Experience 2026
The essential qualification differs from discipline to discipline. Candidates must ensure they hold the prescribed degree or certification for the post they are applying to, as applications are screened purely on the information furnished online.
- Industrial Safety: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology with PG Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering Management, or B.Tech in Safety/Fire Engineering.
- Geology: Post Graduate Degree in Geology or Applied Geology.
- Electrical: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
- Mechanical: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mining Machinery.
- Civil: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- M&HS: MBBS from an MCI-recognized institute with a minimum of 3 years' experience, including at least 1 year in emergency services or Occupational Health services. If the qualification is a PG Diploma, a minimum of 3 years' experience after the diploma in the clinical field is required. Valid MCI/State registration and relevant experience certificates are mandatory.
- Environment Management: Bachelor's Degree in Environment Engineering/Technology, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology with PG Degree/Diploma in Environmental Engineering/Management/Science, or Post Graduate Degree in Environment Science.
- Mineral Processing: B.Tech/B.E. in Mineral and Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Engineering or Mineral Processing, or M.Tech in the same fields.
- Human Resources: MBA with specialization in Personnel Management/HR, or PG Degree/Diploma in Personnel Management/HR, or Master's in Social Work acceptable under Labour Legislation for working as a Welfare Officer.
- Finance: Passed Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
- Survey: Bachelor's Degree in Mining/Civil Engineering with Surveyor Certificate of Competency, or M.Tech in Geomatics.
Experience Rules to Remember
- Experience is reckoned only from the date of obtaining the basic essential qualification prescribed for the post, that is, from the date of result publication of that qualification.
- Experience is counted only if it is in the relevant field, such as working experience in the advertised cadre or discipline in a Mining, Metal or Manufacturing industry, or in any other industry subject to submission of an Experience Certificate meeting HCL's domain requirement, which is assessed at document verification.
- Applicants must upload at least 2 of the following for each employment: Appointment Letter, Pay Slip, Form-16, PF Statement or Bank Statement towards salary credit. Failure to do so leads to cancellation of candidature.
- Experience gained through Training, Consultancy, Teaching, Fellowship, Internship, Apprenticeship or Academic Project is NOT counted as experience.
HCL Salary, Age Limit and Grade Structure 2026
The consolidated pay, maximum age and post-qualification experience requirement vary by grade. Candidates should identify their applicable grade carefully before applying.

Compensation Package
Selected candidates are entitled to the consolidated pay for their grade, along with Employer's PF Contribution, HRA, gratuity, medical benefits, leave encashment and all other applicable benefits under HCL's Scheme for Engagement of Executives on Fixed Tenure Basis.
HCL Selection Process 2026
Selection is based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview, which carries 100% weightage. There is no written exam by default, though HCL reserves the right to conduct a written screening test to shortlist candidates for the interview if required.
Zone of Consideration and Shortlisting
- Candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:5, meaning 5 candidates per advertised vacancy. For a single vacancy, 10 candidates are shortlisted.
- If fewer than 5 applications are received for a post, the Selection Committee will assess and state the suitability of the interviewed candidates directly.
- Further shortlisting may be done from the eligible pool if posts remain vacant due to low turnout or an exhausted waitlist.
- Shortlisting criteria include 1 mark for each completed year of relevant experience beyond the minimum requirement, with 1/365 mark per additional day for incomplete years, and 1 mark for each additional relevant degree over the minimum essential qualification, up to a maximum of 2 marks. HCL may add further criteria if required.
Document Verification
- Interview intimation is communicated by email only, and call letters are issued to shortlisted candidates.
- Requests to change the interview or test date, time or venue once communicated will not be entertained.
- Candidates must bring an original ID Card such as Aadhaar, Driving Licence or Voter ID to the interview venue.
- Original documents will be verified at the interview, and non-production of originals will debar the candidate from appearing.

- Any statutory certificate defined under the eligibility criteria for the applied discipline, such as MCI registration for M&HS or Surveyor Certificate of Competency for Survey
- CGPA/GPA/SGPA to percentage conversion certificate from the University/Institute, where letter grades were awarded
- Caste/Category Certificate in the Government of India prescribed format for SC/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. The OBC (NCL) certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026
- Self-certified English/Hindi translation of the SC/OBC certificate, if originally issued in another language
- Minimum any 2 of Appointment Letter, Pay Slip, Form-16, PF Statement or Bank Statement towards salary credit, for each declared employment, to be uploaded in the online application itself
Important Conditions for HCL Recruitment 2026
- Appointment is subject to the candidate being found medically fit by a Medical Authority prescribed by HCL Management.
- Travelling ticket fare from the correspondence address to the interview venue is reimbursed only for candidates who are actually interviewed. Those found ineligible at document verification are not eligible for reimbursement.
- The services of the incumbent are purely temporary and contractual and do not confer any right or claim to regular employment, absorption or regularization in HCL.
- Appointment remains provisional until caste/category certificates and other testimonials are verified. False claims lead to termination and possible further action.
- Category (SC/OBC-NCL) once declared in the online application cannot be changed, and no benefit of another category will be admissible during the process.
- The email ID and mobile number provided must remain active until the recruitment process is complete, and the email ID cannot be changed once entered. All correspondence is via email only.
- Any canvassing, direct or indirect, disqualifies the candidature. The legal jurisdiction for any dispute is Kolkata only.
