SCI Junior Court Assistant Vacancy Details and Important Dates
A total of 250 tentative vacancies have been announced for the post of Junior Court Assistant. The Registry reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts with the approval of the Competent Authority. Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification and Age Limit
Candidates must meet the educational qualification and age requirements as on 1st September 2026. The eligibility criteria are strict, and candidates should verify their documents before applying online.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized University in India.
- Knowledge of computer operation with a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) on computer.
Age Limit
Candidates should not be below 18 years of age and should not exceed 30 years of age as on 1st September 2026.
- Age relaxation is admissible to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Physically Challenged and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India Rules.
- Relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years over the prescribed age limit is admissible to dependents of freedom fighters.
- There is no upper age limit for Departmental candidates of the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.
- No age relaxation will be allowed to candidates working in other Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings or Nationalized Banks.
SCI Junior Court Assistant Salary and Application Fee
Selected candidates will be placed in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix with an initial Basic Pay of Rs. 35,400 plus allowances as admissible under the rules of the Supreme Court of India. The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online through the payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of four stages: Objective Type Test, Typing Speed Test, Written Test (Descriptive) and Interview. Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next level of the recruitment process.
Scheme of Examination
Stage 1: Objective Type Test (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

- Subjects: General English including comprehension (20 questions), General Aptitude (15), General Knowledge (15), Provisions relating to Judiciary in the Constitution of India (15), Supreme Court Rules 2013 (10), Supreme Court Officers and Servants Rules 1961 (10), and Computer Knowledge (15)
- Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer
Stage 2: Typing Speed Test on Computer
- Duration: 10 minutes
- Maximum Marks: 50
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 25
- Minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English with mistakes allowed up to 3 percent of total words typed
Stage 3: Written Test (Descriptive)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50
- Components: Comprehension Passage, Precis Writing and Essay Writing in English
Stage 4: Interview
- Maximum Marks: 25
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 13
Candidates who qualify the Objective Type Test with 50 marks or more will be shortlisted for the second stage in the ratio of 1:10 against the number of tentative vacancies. The Written Test answer sheets will be evaluated only for candidates who qualify the Typing Speed Test. Candidates who qualify all three tests will be shortlisted for Interview in the ratio of 1:3 against the number of tentative vacancies.

The application process is entirely online through the official website of the Supreme Court of India. Candidates should follow the steps below carefully to avoid rejection of their application form.
- Visit the official website www.sci.gov.in and access the online application link for the recruitment.
- Fill in the online Application Form with accurate personal, educational and category details. Name, Father's name, Mother's name and Date of Birth must be entered exactly as per the High School Certificate or Class X Board Examination certificate.
- Upload scanned copies of recent photograph, signature and requisite documents including Class X, Class XII and Graduation Certificates, caste or community certificate for reserved category candidates, and disability certificate if applicable.
- Furnish the required Undertaking confirming that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of the advertisement.
- Pay the applicable application fee online through the payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.
- Preview the Application Form after successful completion and take a printout of the filled-up form for your records. This printout need not be sent to the Registry.

SCI Junior Court Assistant Recruitment 2026: Key Instructions
Candidates should keep the following important instructions in mind while applying for SCI Junior Court Assistant Recruitment 2026.
- Admission at all stages of examination will be purely provisional, and eligibility documents will be verified at the time of document verification.
- If a candidate is found guilty of impersonation, submitting fabricated documents or furnishing false information at any stage, they will be disqualified, prosecuted and debarred from future appointment in the Registry.
- Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn or modified, so candidates must ensure all particulars are correct before final submission.
- Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- In case a candidate submits more than one Application Form, only the form with the latest Application Number will be considered.
- No request for change of category filled in the online Application Form will be entertained.
- Candidates must have a valid personal email ID and mobile number kept active throughout the recruitment process.
- No TA or DA will be payable for appearing in the Tests or Interview. Admit Cards will not be sent by post and must be downloaded from the official website.
- Concessions and facilities in the Tests will be extended to Persons with Disabilities as per Government of India guidelines.
- Candidates working in Central or State Government Departments, Nationalized Banks or Public Sector Undertakings must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of document verification.

- In case of any dispute, the jurisdiction will be Delhi.
The Objective Type Test will be conducted at cities notified in Annexure-A of the official advertisement. The Typing Speed Test and Written Test (Descriptive) will be conducted in Delhi or NCR only.
