ITBP Constable GD Sports Quota Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the educational qualification, nationality, sports achievement and age requirements specified in the notification. All required educational and sports certificates must be possessed on the date of recruitment.
Educational Qualification and Nationality
- Educational Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Nationality: Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
- Sports Qualification: Must have participated or won medal(s) in recognized competitions such as International, National, Inter-University or Khelo India Games between 01 January 2024 and 01 November 2026.
- Educational certificates from boards other than Central or State Boards must be accompanied by a Government notification declaring equivalence for Central Government service.

The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must be obtained within 3 years before the closing date of 01 November 2026. Date of Birth is finalized based on the Matriculation or Higher Secondary certificate submitted, and no subsequent change request is considered.
ITBP Constable GD Sports Quota Physical Standards, Salary and Application Fee
Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards for height, chest and weight. The salary is offered under Pay Level-3 of the 7th CPC along with multiple allowances and benefits.

Weight must be proportionate to height and age as per the medical standards chart. Minimum distance vision required is 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without correction, and glasses or lenses are not permitted. Colour-blind candidates are not eligible. Tattoos are permitted only as religious symbols, figures or names on the left forearm inner aspect or dorsum of hands, sized under one-fourth of that body part.

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates receive Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Washing Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance for border postings, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, free Leave Pass, free medical facilities and other admissible allowances. Pension is provided under the New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme with effect from 01 January 2004.

ITBP Constable GD Sports Quota Selection Process and Marking Scheme
The selection process follows a defined sequence: Documentation, Physical Standard Test (PST), Sports Trial Test, Merit List based on sports achievement marks, Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME) if required. There is no written examination for this recruitment.

The official notification lists 18 competition tiers in total. Candidates get marks for only the single highest medal or participation secured in the 01 January 2024 to 01 November 2026 window.
Documentation, PST and Sports Trial Test
- Documentation: Verification of original certificates for age, education, caste and sports achievement. Identity and biometric verification is mandatory.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest (male only) and weight are checked against the prescribed standards. Overweight or underweight candidates are not debarred at this stage, and the final fitness decision rests with the Medical Officer at DME.
- Sports Trial Test: 40 marks, qualifying in nature, with a minimum cut-off of 20 marks. These marks do not count toward final merit. Candidates who represented India in an International Sports Event with Department of Sports clearance are exempted. No appeal is entertained for re-conduct of the Sports Trial Test.
Merit List and Tie-Breaking
Final merit is based purely on the sports achievement marking scheme. Documentation, PST and Sports Trial marks are not added to merit and are only used for shortlisting and qualifying. The tie-break order is: higher marks, higher National-competition achievement if International achievements are equal, younger candidate, and alphabetical order of name in English.
Medical Examination
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) is conducted as per MHA's Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination dated 20 May 2015, as amended.
- Candidates declared unfit may opt for Review Medical Examination (RME) by giving written consent within 24 hours. The RME decision is final.
- Pregnant female candidates are declared temporarily unfit. Their vacancy is held, and they are re-examined 6 weeks after confinement, subject to a fitness certificate.

Documents Required
- Matriculation or 10th class certificate as proof of date of birth
- Sports achievement certificates signed by the competent awarding authority such as National Federation Secretary, IOA, University Dean of Sports or SAI, depending on the competition level
- OBC certificate with Non-Creamy-Layer declaration, SC/ST certificate, or EWS certificate valid for 2025-26, as applicable
- No Objection Certificate for candidates in Government service
- Certificate for height or chest relaxation, if claiming this relaxation
- Domicile certificate issued by local revenue authorities in the special format for West Pakistani Refugees in J&K and Ladakh
- Four latest passport-size photographs, same as used in the online application
Important Conditions
- These vacancies are not open to physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen.
- Selected candidates must serve a minimum of 10 years in the Force. Resigning earlier requires refunding 3 months' pay and allowances or training cost, whichever is higher.
- No TA or DA is admissible for travel to and from the recruitment venue. Candidates should be prepared for a multi-day stay at their own arrangement and cost.
- Possession of mobile phones, firearms or any gadget at the recruitment venue, impersonation, forged documents or misbehaviour with recruitment staff leads to cancellation of candidature and possible police or legal action.
- Admit cards are issued only online. ITBPF is not responsible for non-receipt due to invalid contact details or technical issues.
