Educational Qualification and Experience
Senior Scientific Officer (DNA): M.Sc. (1st Division) or Ph.D. in Zoology, Physical Anthropology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Forensic Science, or an equivalent qualification in any of these subjects, with Zoology/Botany as one of the subjects at B.Sc. level. Minimum five years of post-qualification hands-on experience of Forensic DNA casework in a State/Central Forensic Science Laboratory, including STR profiling, capillary electrophoresis, mixture interpretation and statistical analysis.
Senior Scientific Assistant (DNA): Same educational qualification as above, with a minimum of three years of post-qualification hands-on experience of Forensic DNA casework in a State/Central Forensic Science Laboratory.
Scientific Assistant (DNA): M.Sc. (at least 2nd Division) in Zoology, Physical Anthropology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Forensic Science, or an equivalent qualification, with Zoology/Botany as one of the subjects at B.Sc. level. Minimum one year of post-qualification experience of Forensic DNA casework in a State/Central Forensic Science Laboratory.
Lab Attendant (Support Staff, DNA Division): Matriculation (10th) pass from a recognised Board. Prior experience of working as a Laboratory Attendant/Laboratory Assistant in a Government forensic, chemical or pathological laboratory, hospital or educational institution is preferred.
Age Limit
Age limits differ by post and are counted as on the closing date:
- Senior Scientific Officer (DNA): 21 to 50 years
- Senior Scientific Assistant (DNA): 21 to 45 years
- Scientific Assistant (DNA): 21 to 40 years
