Educational Qualification
Para Pump Operator: Minimum Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Electrician/Wireman/Diesel Mechanic/Pump Mechanic/Motor Mechanic/Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic/Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Pump Operation & Maintenance/Pump Operator) from a recognized ITI, OR a Matriculation certificate in the above trades under a Skill Development Scheme of the Government.
Para Fitter: Minimum Matriculation (10th) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Fitter/Plumber from a recognized ITI/institute, OR a Matriculation certificate in the above trades under a Skill Development Scheme of the Government.
Multi Purpose Workers: Minimum Middle pass (8th), or its equivalent, from a school duly recognized by the State Government. All candidates must submit their 8th standard marks sheet. If the Education Board has not issued one, attach a detailed marks certificate from the Principal of the school. Evaluation and shortlisting (if necessary) use the marks in the Middle standard only, even if the candidate has a higher qualification.
SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates may submit their category certificate, duly signed by the competent authority. Experience is not an essential qualification but earns marks in the selection process.

Selection Process
Selection is out of 10 marks. First, an initial merit list is drawn up from each candidate's experience and qualification. The top eligible candidates, at least 5 times the number of vacancies, are then called for the skill/physical test. Separate call letters will be issued for the test, and no TA/DA will be paid for appearing in it.
The marks distribution is as follows:
- Percentage of marks/grades: 5 marks for Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter (Matriculation), 6 marks for Multi Purpose Workers (Middle 8th class)
- BPL family: 1 mark for Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter
- Experience in related field: 2 marks for all posts (1/2 mark for every six months)
- Skill and physical test: 2 marks for all posts
The skill test for Para Pump Operator covers minor pump repair, fault location, installation and alignment, electric system troubleshooting, lubrication and cooling systems, and operation of regulating valves. The skill test for Para Fitter covers pipeline repair, pipe fitting, thread cutting, distribution layout and flow regulation in hilly terrain. The physical test requires the candidate to carry tools and pipes in hilly areas and to have no physical disability or colour blindness.
